Midrand at a glance
Midrand is a municipality located centrally in the Gauteng province. The area is located between Centurion and Sandton and neighbours the Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. The area is fast becoming a thriving business hub. Business executives and tourists have easy access to the Gautrain station near the Grand Central Airport which allows for speedy access to the bustling centres of Pretoria and Johannesburg and tourism hotspots such as The Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton City.

Midrand’s growth means that there is now little break between the city of Johannesburg and Pretoria. Many predict that soon there will be no gap to separate the cities with only one large metropolitan area remaining. The most popular equestrian suburbs include Beaulieu, where the Equestrian Academy and Randesfontein boast large oval horse racing tracks. The Gallagher Convention Centre, one of South Africa’s largest conference and exhibition facilities, can host up to 12,000 delegates and attracts both national and international clients. The World of Golf – South Africa’s only golfing theme park, provides a variety of amazing amenities for enthusiasts and professional and amateur golfers. The Kyalami Race Track, an internationally renowned racetrack and the venue for South Africa’s numerous premier motor racing events, is also located within the area.
